Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey has said that Black Stars must qualify for the 2022 World Cup in order to compensate Ghanaians for the abysmal performance exhibited at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.<\/p>\n

The four-time AFCON champions exited the tournament in the group stages losing to Morocco and debutants Comoros Islands. Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac has been sacked and a search for a new coach is underway.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM, the former Elmina Sharks coach mentioned that qualifying for the World Cup is a must. \u201cLet\u2019s not forget what happened in Cameroon, we need to qualify so we have to do everything possible to qualify and go for Qatar World Cup\u201d, the former Elmina Sharks FC trainer told Asempa FM.<\/p>\n

The Glow Lamp Academy owner also suggested ideas to solve some problems affecting Ghana football. \u201cTo be honest with you, our football has fallen rapidly and spoilt, don\u2019t get me wrong “It comprises of so many things but we need to tackle it one after the other. To tackle it at once will even generate a whole problem\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne, is to tackle the attitude of players who don\u2019t respect local coaches. The coaches also need time and with that we can succeed\u201d<\/p>\n
