Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Mr Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor, Convener of \u201cFix the Country\u201d a pressure group, has been arrested for a post he allegedly made on a social media platform that he will stage a coup should the E-Levy Bill be passed by Parliament.<\/p>\n

A statement, signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kwesi Ofori, Director-General, Public Affairs, and copied the Ghana News Agency, said the post contained a \u201cclear statement of intent with a possible will to execute a coup in his declaration of intent to subvert the constitution of the Republic of Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n

It said he would be arraigned before the court on Monday, February 14, 2022. The statement called on \u201cthe good people\u201d of Ghana to avoid making pronouncements that may lead to a breach of the peace of the country as any such acts contravened the laws of the country.<\/p>\n
