Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span> Investigators have brought one of the most wanted Mafia bosses in Italy back to the country, almost 20 years after his escape from prison.<\/p>\n

The head of the Sicilian Mafia, Stidda, landed at Rome’s Fiumicino airport on Friday. He was immediately taken to a high-security prison, according to the anti-Mafia police DIA.<\/p>\n

Spanish authorities arrested the man in December in Madrid, where he had been hiding for years under a false name. He was identified in an image taken from Google Maps in the Spanish town of Galapagar at a fruit and vegetable stand. The Mafia boss from the Agrigento area was jailed for a murder in 1989, but escaped in 2002 during filming work at Rome’s Rebibbia prison.<\/p>\n
