Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>King Faisal forward Zubairu Ibrahim has been named the new captain of the Ghana men’s U-20 team ahead of the upcoming WAFU Championship in Niger, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper was initially leading the team on the pitch in the early stages of their preparations, but new developments indicate that coach Karim Zito has handed the armband to Zubairu.<\/p>\n

The 17-year-old has scored in almost all of the friendly matches for Black Satellites and the technical team are confident he will lead the team to successfully defend the title they won two years ago.<\/p>\n

Ghana are in Group B alongside sworn rivals Nigeria and runners up for the last edition Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n

The Black Satellites will take on the Flying Eagles of Nigeria in their opening game on May 8, 2022.<\/p>\n
