Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>he GCB Bank Ladies Association has donated GHC10,000.00 and assorted items to the Princess Marie Louise Children\u2019s Hospital in Accra. The items include toilet rolls, detergents and tissues, to aid in the prevention and control of infections.<\/p>\n

The donation was made after a health walk exercise by the Association in collaboration with Vanguard Assurance , the Lions International Clubs and others on women\u2019s role in dominating the digital space in the banking sector.<\/p>\n

The walk started from the Ayi Mensah toll booth and ended at Tavern Lodge at Peduase with fitness exercises like aerobics and cardio workout. Mr Samuel Nkrumah Asamoah, Nursing Officer at Princess Marie Louise Children\u2019s Hospital who received the donation, said the items would reduce the pressure on management.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe donation has come at the right time and is going to go a long way in this era of Covid-19 where the uses of tissue and detergent have become so important in health facilities because many people are using it with the price increasing on the markets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said the cash donation would also go into the needy accounts of the Hospital and patients who were unable to pay their bills or buy medication would be assessed by the clinical division and put on the needy fund.<\/p>\n

Mr Asamoah commended the Association and the Bank for the gesture and assured that the donation would serve its intended purpose. Mr Kojo Kwarteng, Head of Corporate Affairs of GCB Bank, said the Electronic Levy, (e-levy) would not collapse the digital space, adding that:<\/p>\n

\u201cGCB as a bank is prepared for the e-levy, our staff have undergone all the needed training for successful implementation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mrs Bambie Bamfo-Sam, a Health and Wellness Lifestyle Coach, urged Ghanaians to keep an active life because it prevented life related diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo a physical activity that you like doing best, if it\u2019s dancing, dance intentionally and consistently, walk, go to the gym, swim and don\u2019t forget to eat well too. Fitness is just a part of wellness so once you get fit, the other part of wellness is taken care of halfway,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Mrs Gertrude Sangber -Dery, President of GCB Ladies Association, encouraged ladies in the banking sector to take digitisation serious and brace themselves up for whatever would come their way.<\/p>\n
