Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Firefighters in Prague have begun to set up a second tent camp for refugees from\u202fUkraine, due to the large number of people that have arrived in the Czech capital since Russia’s invasion.<\/p>\n

The emergency shelter on a site owned by the state-run postal service in the city’s Malesice district will have room to accommodate 150 people, a spokesperson announced on Monday.<\/p>\n

Besides the tents with camp beds, hygiene and social facilities and a play corner for children are planned. Two weeks ago, the first outdoor refugee camp was set up in Prague, which currently offers temporary shelter to almost 150 people.<\/p>\n

Prague Mayor Zdenek Hrib has repeatedly called for better re-distribution of Ukrainian refugees between the EU\u202fmember states. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, more than 358,000 Ukrainians have arrived in the Czech Republic and received residence permits. Some 90,000 registered in Prague alone.<\/p>\n
