Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Two suspects who were involved in a land dispute on Saturday at Shukura will be arraigned before Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Their charges include causing harm, assault, unlawful discharge of firearm, trespassing and breach of the Landguardism Act.<\/p>\n

Four men in military uniform on Saturday clashed with some youth at Shukura over a land dispute.<\/p>\n

In a viral video, some young men were seen having a heated argument with the uniformed, after which they went on to vandalise a Ford Explorer belonging to one of them.<\/p>\n

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) John Akrofi Ansah, Dansoman District Commander told the Ghana News Agency on Monday that only one out of the four uniformed men was with the Military.<\/p>\n

DSP Ansah said the military man had been handed over to the Military for detainment and to allow appropriate disciplinary actions to be taken against him.<\/p>\n

The two other suspects who posed as Military men were also arrested but were granted bail to allow them to receive medical attention.<\/p>\n

The Police said the fourth suspect was on the run.<\/p>\n

DSP Ansah advised Ghanaians not to take the laws into their hands but to always seek Police assistance during any confrontation.<\/p>\n

He explained that land disputes were to be addressed by Court, adding that the Police could also provide the needed assistance.<\/p>\n

He warned against the use of individuals from the Police, Military, or land guards to fight people during land disputes.<\/p>\n

He also said Landguardism was a crime punishable by law and advised citizens to desist from such unlawful acts.<\/p>\n
