Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the Council of Ministers adopted a new Plan for Temporary Protection tabled by outgoing Deputy Prime Minister for Good Governance Kalina Konstantinova, the Government information service said.<\/p>\n

A massive refugee wave began from the very start of the outgoing Government\u2019s term, which practically made the old (temporary protection) plan outdated and inapplicable. Tens of thousands of people fleeing war, over 30% of whom children, were passing through Bulgaria, Konstantinova said, outlining the situation. In spite of everything, Bulgaria succeeded in providing 100% temporary protection to everyone who requested it, she added.<\/p>\n

The new Plan for Temporary Protection features all good practices, processes and standards which Konstantinova\u2019s team has elaborated over the past five months.<\/p>\n

The Plan defines a critical situation to mean “when more than 500 foreigners seeking temporary protection have crossed the state border within 24 hours”. It also sets out a clear list of the functions and tasks envisaged, the conditions and the procedure for the provision of resources for the sojourn in the country of aliens who have sought and received temporary protection.<\/p>\n

The document outlines different variants at which the degree of predictability and crisis management are definitive. Precise instructions and tasks for the Bulgarian institutions are also set down in view of a number of good practices the task force established and carried out in the last five months.Credit: BTA<\/p>\n
