Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, has directed the Ghana Education Service to speed up the processes for the issuance of staff ID numbers to newly recruited teachers.<\/p>\n

The Minister stated that it would help enable the teachers to be put on the payroll to receive their salaries.<\/p>\n

Dr Adutwum\u2019s call follows reports in a section of the media that some newly recruited teachers have not been paid a few months after being posted due to lack of staff ID numbers to be used for the payment processes.<\/p>\n

Mr Yaw Opoku Mensah, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, in a statement to the Ghana News Agency, said these developments prompted the Minister to give the directive to the Service to act appropriately.<\/p>\n

The Minister, he said, reiterated the Ministry\u2019s commitment to the welfare of all Teachers who were at the forefront of promoting education.<\/p>\n
