Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>African teams are still on the hunt for a first win at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 with the Black Stars of Ghana being the only team to have scored so far at the tournament.<\/p>\n

None of the continent’s five representatives at the Mundial have been able to record a win with Ghana the latest to fall against Portugal at Stadium 974 yesterday in Doha. West African nations Ghana, Senegal and Cameroon lost their opening games while North Africans Morocco and Tunisia managed goalless draws.<\/p>\n

Senegal lost 2-0 to the Netherlands while Cameroon were were defeated 1-0 by Switzerland. The North Africans fared much better with Tunisia drawing 0-0 with Denmark, while Morocco held Croatia 0-0.<\/p>\n

Ghana coach Otto Addo complained bitterly about officiating in his side’s 3-2 loss against Portugal. \u201c(Africa\u2019s) results have to improve and I hope we all improve,\u201d Addo said.<\/p>\n

All five African teams failed to progress past the first round at the last World Cup in 2018 and would be hoping to fare much better in Qatar. Senegal will be hoping to halt the trend today when they face the hosts Qatar in a Group A clash.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are still determined because we know that there is something that we can still achieve during this World Cup and we still believe in our chances,\u201d Senegal captain Kalildou Koulibaly said.<\/p>\n
