Although the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is expected to conduct its parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2020 elections, the party is yet to set a date for the election in constituencies with incumbent Members of Parliament (MPs).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Party has slated Saturday, September 28 for the conduct of the primaries in its orphan constituencies across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, the date for that of constituencies with sitting MPs is unknown.<\/p>\n

Director of Research and Elections for the party, Evans Nimako had said that the National Council is yet to take a decision on the matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe National Executive Committee also triggered the discussion for the conduct of parliamentary primary for constituencies where we have sitting Members of Parliament but the final decision will be taken by the National Council of the party. So we\u2019re hoping that when the National Council is convened by the National Chairperson, a decision will be made with regards to sitting Members of Parliament,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
