The office of ex-President John Mahama has rubbished some purported comments made by controversial Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong on his Net 2 TV network linking the former Commander-In-Chief to the death of JB Danquah Adu.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former Abuakwa North MP was murdered at his Shiashi residence in Accra in 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aide to the former President wrote in a statement Saturday that \u201cthere is no iota of truth in the allegations [by Mr. Agyapong], they are complete fabrications and figment of fevered imaginations.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the same person who over the years has made similar scurrilous allegations against other persons he has accused with the same offence. Where did this new information he claims to have, come from,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, nobody has been convicted in the murder case three years on despite a suspect in the case confessing to the killing, raising more speculations about the matter.<\/p>\n

Daniel Asiedu said\u00a0he was contracted by some people to kill the MP<\/p>\n

The office of Mahama has, however, asked Mr. Agyapong and the governing NPP \u201cconcentrate their energies on dealing with these problems and stop trying to divert attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMahama remains focused on advocating an alternative and sincere working government and would urge the good people of Ghana to treat the vituperations of Mr. Agyapong with utmost contempt,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
