Legal counsel for the three persons standing trial for allegedly plotting to overthrow the government and cause mayhem in the country Victor Kwadjoga Adawudu has brushed aside allegations leveled against his clients describing them as a set up.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The three Dr.Frederick Yao Mac Palm,Donya Kafui and Bright Allan Debrah Fosu were yesterday charged and remanded by a district court in Accra for conspiracy to manufacture arms and ammunitions without lawful authority,possession of explosives without lawful authority and manufacture of fire arms without lawful authority.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press after the first court hearing the lawyer for the three accused persons says his clients are innocent and its a set up.<\/p>\n

“It is a set up and at the end of the day we will be happy that let government come what they say they have found in the man’s house they have found nothing they were there twice.<\/p>\n

“I can tell you on authority they found nothing in his house we have seen the list that they are bandying around that they have found guns they have found all this” he said.<\/p>\n

Background<\/p>\n

A secret plot targeted intended to takeover government has been foiled by the security agencies in the country.<\/p>\n

Minister of Information, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in a statement indicated that three\u00a0 suspects have been arrested in connection with an alleged coup d’\u00e9tat against the Akufo-Addo government.<\/p>\n

Dr Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, owner of Citadel Hospital and his two accomplices \u2013 Mr Ezor Kafui (a local weapon manufacturer) and Mr Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu (aka BB or ADC) were arrested on Friday, 20 September 2019 at Accra and Bawaleshie near Dodowa.<\/p>\n

The government\u2019s press statement on Monday, 23 September 2019, said: \u201cA joint security operation of personnel drawn from Defence Intelligence, CID and Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), conducted a successful operation which led to the arrest of three persons and the retrieval of several arms, explosive devices and ammunition from locations in Accra\u201d.<\/p>\n

The release explained that surveillance on the activities of the persons involved commenced in June 2018, when Dr Mac-Palm and Mr Ofosu started organising a series of meetings at the Next-Door Beach Resort, Teshie, and other locations in Accra, in furtherance of their objectives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
