{"id":38201,"date":"2023-03-25T06:04:50","date_gmt":"2023-03-25T06:04:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/uncategorized\/gta-calls-for-prioritization-of-ghanaian-products-and-services"},"modified":"2023-03-25T06:04:50","modified_gmt":"2023-03-25T06:04:50","slug":"gta-calls-for-prioritization-of-ghanaian-products-and-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/gta-calls-for-prioritization-of-ghanaian-products-and-services","title":{"rendered":"GTA calls for prioritization of  Ghanaian products and services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has urged Ghanaians to prioritize the patronage of Ghanaian products and services to promote Ghana\u2019s culture and heritage and the local economy at large.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>It said Ghanaians must show their patriotism in every aspect of their lives by patronising goods and services produced in Ghana, appreciating their local languages and names, showcasing the Ghanaian beauty, culture, the diversity of the country and the various tourism sites and attractions.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi, Deputy Head of Corporate Affairs (GTA), in an interview, said, as part of the Ghana Heritage Month, it was very important to encourage Ghanaians to have a change of mind about Ghanaian products and service while encouraging producers and owners to improve their production and services to meet the required standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur products and services should be the subject of interest during this month, because the month has been dedicated to raise awareness and remind Ghanaians about struggles of our forbearers in attaining independence and the need for us to hold that in high esteem through appreciation of ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that patronising Ghanaian products and services would create jobs and employment for more people, generate enough foreign exchange and revenue for government to be able to undertake projects and programmes for the nation.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u2018as a country God has endowed us with rich soils, enough oil and natural resources that we can use and benefit from, hence there is no need relying so much on foreign goods that do not even depict our identity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Kusi said the GTA through various tailor made Ghanaian oriented programmes and projects over the years had tried to project and promote Ghana as a destination for all irrespective of race, colour or religion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe first introduced the Eat, Wear, Feel, and See Ghana initiative for Ghanaians to appreciate and eat our local foods, wear our locally made fabrics, feel our music and arts and take time to visit our tourist sites across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He noted that subsequently other initiatives like the \u2018Year of Return\u2019, \u2018Beyond the Return, Destination Ghana, \u2018Experience and Share Ghana\u2019, among others, were also introduced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, the GTA is focusing more on domestic tourism, and it is trying as much as possible to entrench the concept of domestic tourism into the Ghanaian people and also getting the diaspora to appreciate what Ghanaians have, so that gradually we can patronize ourselves and grow our economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Head of Corporate Affairs said the tourism, arts and culture sector played a very important role during this period and urged industry players to take advantage of the period to offer readily available services for Ghanaians to benefit.<\/p>\n<p>He urged stakeholders to come on board to support such initiatives and assured that the GTA was ever ready to support any initiative in the future to promote Ghana in all aspects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\">Ghana<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana.
