Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected Ernest Yaw Anim as the Parliamentary Candidate for the May 23 by-election in the Kumawu Constituency.<\/b><\/p>\n

The primary was held on Sunday, April 23.<\/p>\n

Mr Yaw Anim polled 195 out of the total valid votes cast to emerge winner.<\/p>\n

He beat four other contenders to emerge triumphant.<\/p>\n

In close second came Obaapa Ama Serwaa, who polled 181 votes.<\/p>\n

Two aspirants including former Member of Parliament Yaw Baah had withdrawn from the elections. He threw his support behind Obaapa Ama Serwaa.<\/p>\n

The Director of Health Promotions at the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Aboagye Da-Costa, who also contested the primaries, came fourth while veteran radio presenter Osei Bempah came last with five votes.<\/p>\n
