{"id":4182,"date":"2019-10-04T15:08:02","date_gmt":"2019-10-04T15:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/ghana\/?p=4182"},"modified":"2019-10-04T15:08:02","modified_gmt":"2019-10-04T15:08:02","slug":"npp-reveals-next-president-candidate-after-akufo-addo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/npp-reveals-next-president-candidate-after-akufo-addo","title":{"rendered":"NPP reveals next president candidate after Akufo-Addo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed the next presidential candidate after Nana Akufo-Addo has served his full 8-year-term of office.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Veep, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has been targetted as the next presidential candidate for the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, a.k.a Sir John has revealed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Forestry Commission is optimistic the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will wallow in opposition for a long period of time.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an interview on Peace FM&#8217;s morning show dubbed &#8216;Kokrokoo&#8217;, Sir John posited that the NDC will not come to power until Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has had the opportunity of serving a full eight-year term of office.<\/p>\n<p>Explaining why he thinks Bawumia will be president after Akufo-Addo, he said: &#8220;it is factual that the ruling government has performed tremendously well. After the mess left behind by the previous administration headed by John Dramani Mahama; the damage they caused, and the way this government has fixed the economy, if it were to be related to an examination, Akufo-Addo will poll 80 percent.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He even qualifies to get 90 percent. We want to tell John Mahama that even with the ten percent left, NDC is still not an option.
