The Convention People Party (CPP) will not contest all the 275 parliamentary seat in the 2020 elections, acting Chairperson, Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim has said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She\u00a0has bemoaned the party’s strength in the 2020 election, calling for a more strategic approach to stay in contest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She says the CPP does not have enough resources for the task but believes a good strategy can help the party to make a mark next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will cut our coat according to the available resources to be able to match the NPP and NDC come 2020,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She has therefore encouraged party members to patronize pro-poor policies of the New Patriotic Party.<\/p>\n

According to her, the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), Masloc loans and other pro-poor policies of the NPP are being financed with the country\u2019s resources and that CPP members are Ghanaians and have the right to benefit from the policies as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre we going to say we are CPP so we won\u2019t go and access these facilities?,\u201d she quizzed.<\/p>\n

The CPP was banned after the overthrow of the Kwame Nkrumah in 1966.<\/p>\n

It has struggled to make any serious impact ever since it returns to into Ghana’s political contests in the year 2000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
