Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) will be carrying out a \u201ccoordinated\u201d and \u201cplanned\u201d emergency shutdown at its Tema Regulating and Metering Station on Sunday, July 16.<\/b><\/p>\n

The exercise will be undertaken between 9:00am and 3:00pm.<\/p>\n

This is a requirement as \u201cpart of measures to ensure safe and reliable operations of the pipeline\u201d.<\/p>\n

This is said to have been sanctioned by the West African Gas Pipeline Authority.<\/p>\n

These were contained in a press release on Sunday, July 16.<\/p>\n

According to the press release, the date for the emergency shutdown was coordinated with the Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo) in consultation with the Volta River Authority (VRA), the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and other key stakehoders to minimize its impact on communities that rely on power generated from cleaner and more efficient gas transported through the West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP).<\/p>\n

\u201cAll relevant stakeholders were informed in advance to ensure minimal disruption,\u201d the release said.<\/p>\n

WAPCo apologised to its customers, especially those in Tema, for any inconvenience that may be caused.<\/p>\n
