Vice President, Dr Mahmoud Bawumia<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has reiterated his argument that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a better manager of Ghana\u2019s economy and has outperformed the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stressing that in every aspect of the economy, the current NPP government has performed better.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it comes to the performance of the economy in the first term in office of our government under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo, when you compare\u2026then it is clearly a case of “boot for chalewote\u201d, he told trainees of the Nation Builders\u2019 Corps (NABCO) at the closing ceremony of the Celebration of NABCO\u2019s first anniversary in Accra on Friday.<\/p>\n

Dr Bawumia also added that prudent management of the economy under the current NPP government has led the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to project that Ghana will be the fastest growing economy in the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut hold on, last year Ghana was also among, if not, the fastest growing economy in the world. In 2019, Ghana is going to be the fastest-growing economy,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

He further reiterated the point that NABCO, a programme which offers temporary employment for only graduates, is part of a well-thought-out broader plan to transform Ghana\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cLadies and gentleman, let me put all of this in a broader context because what the government of Nana Akufo Addo is doing with NABCO is just one piece of a greater jigsaw that we are putting together for the transformation of Ghana as a whole,\u201d he assured the enthusiastic crowd.<\/p>\n

The Nation Builders Corps is a policy by the government to provide temporary employment for graduates for a period of three years within which they would have acquired much needed skills and competence to gain permanent employment or start businesses of their own.
