They don\u2019t have a post-diet binge<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t celebrate reaching your weight loss target with a giant pig-out! During a diet, you will have gained the habit of eating healthier and a post-diet binge will only get you straight back into the bad old eating habits again.<\/p>\n<p>2. They control their portion sizes<\/p>\n<p>You can still enjoy your food in smaller portions, so don\u2019t overload your plate every mealtime. Whatever the type of food, get into the habit of only serving small portions and then that\u2019s what your body will come to expect.<\/p>\n<p>3. They stay active<\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest causes of obesity is a lack of physical activity. It\u2019s not just the workout habit that you have to develop though; perpetually thin people also play sports, enjoy outdoor activities and generally stay more physically active.<\/p>\n<p>4. They don\u2019t skip meals<\/p>\n<p>Thin people don\u2019t overeat, but neither do they skip meals. Keeping yourself fuelled and feeling full, by eating regular meals, will stop you getting that ravenous feeling that will lead to overeating at some point in the day.<\/p>\n<p>5. They cook at home<\/p>\n<p>If you prepare your own meals, then you know exactly what is going into the food and you can control portion sizes. That\u2019s not to say that thin people have never enjoyed a meal out or don\u2019t have the occasional fast food meal delivered. But\u2019s it\u2019s an occasional treat, not their regular diet.<\/p>\n<p>6. They do weigh themselves<\/p>\n<p>You may have heard that you don\u2019t need to weigh yourself to stay thin, but that\u2019s a little like saying that you don\u2019t have to look at your car dashboard, to see how fast you are going. Thin people don\u2019t obsess over their weight, but they do keep an eye on it.<\/p>\n<p>7. They choose the healthy option<\/p>\n<p>Thin people tend to look for the healthy option on a menu, without even thinking about it. They will be looking for the low fat, high fibre option and something with fresh ingredients too.<\/p>\n<p>8. They find other ways to combat stress<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t turn to the chocolate or the ice cream when you are feeling low. If you want to stay thin, then think of other ways to combat stress, like going for a walk, or phoning a friend. Identify the triggers that cause you to eat, be aware of them and make a conscious effort to steer clear of eating when these events do occur.<\/p>\n<p>9. They surround themselves with like-minded people<\/p>\n<p>Now, we are not suggesting that you arbitrarily dump all of your friends that tend to overeat and don\u2019t exercise, but it does make it more difficult for you if you spend all your time with them. Try and develop a circle of friends with the same healthy outlook as you and share some of your time with them too.<\/p>\n<p>10. They habitually think thin<\/p>\n<p>To stay thin, you need to think thin. The slender, fit people of this world wouldn\u2019t dream of super-sizing at a burger joint, they wouldn\u2019t jump in a cab when they could walk instead and they wouldn\u2019t pass up the opportunity to join in some kind of physical activity with friends.
