Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Former member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has announced his resignation from the party \u201cwith immediate effect\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

He has said as well that he will contest the 2024 elections as an independent candidate.<\/p>\n

The former Minister of Trade and Industry said he will establish a new movement of change in Ghana with the youth as his support base.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe brand logo for the movement is the monarch butterfly which politically symbolises change and transformation, hope and positivity.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt also communicates strength, endurance, spirituality, and trust which are all key traits that I cherish as a political leader.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Kyerematen made this known on Monday, September 25 while addressing a group of supporters and journalists in Accra.<\/p>\n

He said his Movement for Change will have the motto: \u2018Ghana will rise again\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new Movement will be led and powered by the youth of Ghana,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of the over 17 million registered voters in the 2020 general election, the youth aged 18-35, years constituted over 9.4 million voters representing 55% of the total voters.\u201d<\/p>\n
