{"id":55406,"date":"2023-09-28T16:09:27","date_gmt":"2023-09-28T16:09:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/?p=55406"},"modified":"2023-09-28T14:35:54","modified_gmt":"2023-09-28T14:35:54","slug":"jinapor-calls-for-help-for-flood-victims-in-buipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/jinapor-calls-for-help-for-flood-victims-in-buipe","title":{"rendered":"Jinapor calls for help for flood victims in Buipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu, John Abdulai Jinapor, has appealed to the government and National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for urgent relief to the victims of the floods.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The floods have displaced hundreds in the Buipe township of the Central Gonja District.<\/p>\n<p>A severe rainstorm hit the town last week, inundating the area with one of the worst floods recorded in recent times, submerging roads, houses, farms and ripping off roofs.<\/p>\n<p>The disaster has exacerbated the areas infrastructural deficit, with damages estimated at running into millions of Ghana Cedis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very critical that immediate relief is brought to mitigate the human suffering which is getting unbearable,\u201d Mr Jinapor said.<\/p>\n<p>The MP called on government, non-governmental organisations, international aid agencies and philanthropists to, as a matter of urgency, support the victims as those displaced by the catastrophe are in dire need for shelter, food and clean drinking water.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\">Ghana<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana.
