Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>South Dayi Member of Parliament, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has urged former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen to take his time and read the 2020 manifesto document of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to see the policy proposals of the party.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mr Dafeamekpor indicated that the NDC outlined a number of policy proposals in the document to ensure the development of the country.<\/p>\n

His comments come after Mr Kyerematen wondered why the NDC was seeking to return to power when they had not outlined even one policy to help the country.<\/p>\n

Mr Kyerematen said that he had not heard the NDC propose one policy but are preaching a comeback to power.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have not heard not even one policy, how do you bring back NDC, to do what?\u201d he said in an interview with Berla Mundi on Wednesday, September 27.<\/p>\n

Although he has resigned from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to contest as an independent presidential candidate, he said the NPP has \u201cdone a lot, but we have serious challenges with the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Kyerematen further said he wished to use the NPP as the vehicle to project and implement his vision for the country as president but he had to leave the party because of troubles.<\/p>\n

He stated that he had been a strategic politician all these years and wanted the NPP to benefit from his ideas as the president of Ghana.<\/p>\n

But at the moment, he said, he has to go directly to Ghanaians as an independent candidate to sell his vision to them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been very stage about how I have positioned myself over the years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would have wished to use the party but for various reasons, I have decided that I will go directly to the people of Ghana,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the resignation while speaking on Saturday, September 30, Mr Dafeamekpor said \u201cClearly, he has not read our 2020 manifesto. If he had read the detailed manifesto crafted on thematic lines, from education to trade to commerce, he would have noticed the policies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am shocked that he said this. The NDC has alternative policies and so he should take his time and look through our manifesto.\u201d<\/p>\n
