Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Owusu-Bempah, has said he would not be surprised to hear of the sacking of some Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.<\/b><\/p>\n

He observed that some of the CEOs have failed to defend the government when needed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, if you\u2019re a CEO and think it is not your job to defend the government when it comes under attack, think again,\u201d he said in a Facebook post on Thursday, October 5.<\/p>\n

His comments come at a time when the governing NPP has been heavily criticized by analysts following the economic challenges. On Tuesday, the Minority held a demonstration to demand the removal of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana Dr Ernest Addison and his two deputies.<\/p>\n

In the Facebook post, Mr Owusu Bempah said \u201cThere are some Akufo-Addo-appointed CEOs who are just comfortable in their positions and care very little about the public image of the government that made it possible for them to have a job.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, if you\u2019re a CEO and think it is not your job to defend the government when it comes under attack, think again.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, it is the job and responsibility of every appointee to look after the goose that lays the golden egg, and I\u2019m sure President Akufo-Addo is closely monitoring and watching all CEOs of parastatal institutions who simply don\u2019t want to dirty their hands for the good of the government that they\u2019re part of.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tragedy of Julius Caesar, otherwise referred to as the \u201cIdes of March\u201d was foretold in the Shakespearean era and despite the soothsayer\u2019s two attempts to warn Caeser, he didn\u2019t pay attention to the warnings.<\/p>\n
