Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Former Minister of Health Alex Segbefia has said that the comment made by<\/b> the<\/b> Former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Professor Stephen Adei regarding corruption in the Akufo-Addo administration should be taken seriously.<\/b><\/p>\n

He stated that if this corruption allegation came from the opposition parties, Ghanaians would have concluded that it was just politics however, the comment is emanating from someone very close to the current government.<\/p>\n

Prof. Adei, expressed his concern about corruption and arrogance within the Akufo-Addo government.<\/p>\n

He said the \u2018corruption\u2019 and \u2018arrogance\u2019 of the Akufo-Addo government is to the extent that \u201cthey think that Ghana is for them and that without them, Ghana will not be there.\u201d<\/p>\n

He further stated that some government officials believe they should \u201ctell us who should be our next president.\u201d<\/p>\n

He urged President Akufo-Addo to address the issue of corruption within his government, specifically mentioning instances where individuals demand bribes for job opportunities in the public sector, saying, \u201cThis is what Akufo-Addo must be thinking about and if he knows about it, must be ashamed of, that now, his people demand from you a certain amount before you\u2019ll be considered for the job.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cOne of the greatest disappointments of Nana Akufo-Addo\u2019s regime is that, honestly, he raised the hope of Ghanaians.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prof Adei further stated, \u201cGhanaians expected that they had gotten the leader with vision, charisma, determination, and it seems if he doesn\u2019t redeem himself in the next 14 months, he will go down in history as one of the most disappointing leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n

But commenting on Tuesday, October 23, Alex Segefia said \u201cWhen it is coming from your own house, people must sit up, where it is coming from as well, these are not junior members or commentators from the party, all the here names I have mentioned, Stephen Adei, Kennedy Agyapong and Alan Kyerematen, are senior members of the party and the NPP has put itself in the position where there is too much of a smell.<\/p>\n

\u201c…When you have this coming from within at a certain level then it is real.\u201d<\/p>\n
