Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Eighteen- aspirants including three women who filed nominations to contest the parliamentary primaries of the NPP in six orphan constituencies in the Eastern Region have been cleared by the Vetting Committee. <\/b><\/p>\n

Mr Henry Nana Boakye, national organizer of the NPP and chairman of the Eastern Region Vetting committee said 18 out of 19 aspirants who attended the Vetting had been cleared to contest in the primaries for the orphan constituencies slated for Dec 2.<\/p>\n

Briefing the media, he said balloting had been done and \u201cbarring any unforeseen circumstance, all the aspirants except one who didn\u2019t not turn up to be vetted have been given the nod to contest in the primaries \u201c.<\/p>\n

The constituencies include Afram Plains North and South, Asuogyaman, Lower-Manya Krobo, Akwatia and Ayensuano.<\/p>\n

Notable among the 18 were Mr Pius Hadzide, a former Deputy minister for information vying for Asuogyaman, Mr Mark Okraku Mante, Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture minister vying for Ayensuano and Madam Mercy Adu Gyamfi, popularly known as Ama Sey, a former MP for Akwatia who is seeking a comeback after she lost the primaries in 2020.<\/p>\n

The two other women cleared to contest were madam Linda Adadevor seeking candidacy for Lower-Manya Krobo and Madam Ida Adjoa Asiedu also for the Ayensuano constituency.<\/p>\n

The others were Mr Asiamah Kwasi Anim and Mr Eric Kofi Nyarko for Afram Plains North and Mr William Hor and Mr Jacob Ziniyele for Afram Plains South.<\/p>\n

Mr Nana Abrokwa Asare, Mr Michael Ansah and Mr Paul Asare Ansah for Asuogyaman, Mr Ernest Yaw Kumi and Mr Castro Obeng Dankwa for Akwatia constituency.<\/p>\n

Mr Samuel Aye-Paye, a former MP, Mr Ernest Kwasi Addo and Mr Boateng Kinsley Adonai will battle it out for the Ayensuano constituency.<\/p>\n
