{"id":62084,"date":"2023-12-12T16:16:59","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T16:16:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/?p=62084"},"modified":"2023-12-12T15:05:38","modified_gmt":"2023-12-12T15:05:38","slug":"sos-childrens-villages-applauded-for-projects-in-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/sos-childrens-villages-applauded-for-projects-in-ghana","title":{"rendered":"SOS Children\u2019s villages applauded for projects in Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>Ambassador for SOS Chil\u00addren\u2019s Villages in the Neder\u00adlands, Edson Da Graca has paid a working visit to Ghana to abreast himself with operations of the organisation here in Ghana.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>He was accompanied by Managing Director of the SOS Villages, Nederlands, Ms Arian Buurman and other officials of the world\u2019s largest child welfare organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Da Graca, a prominent stand-up comedian and actor in the Nederland at a briefing held at the SOS Children\u2019s Villages Tema location, said he was impressed by ongoing projects by the SOS Chil\u00addren\u2019s Villages Ghana, especially the \u2018Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities,\u2019 which focuses on creating labour market opportunities for more than 5,000 young people, women and returning migrants.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that any initiative tar\u00adgeted at improving the wellbeing of families was worth investing in because in the end, it was the children that would benefit.<\/p>\n<p>He mentioned that he was a strong advocate for child protec\u00adtion and would continue to do his best in ensuring that the world becomes safer for children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very happy to be part of the SOS family. I love to get involved in things that benefit children and I am very happy about this visits. The dedication of the staff of SOS Children\u2019s Villages Ghana to what they do is commendable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProjects that I have seen so far shows that indeed the organisa\u00adtion is doing well for children and families in general,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The actor underscored the significance of dedicating ade\u00adquate funding to initiatives geared towards supporting children, add\u00ading that this was necessary for the creation of an enabling environ\u00adment for children to thrive.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, the Ghana Country Director for SOS Children\u2019s Vil\u00adlages Ghana, Mr Alexander Mar Kekula, said he was impressed by the support given by Mr Da Graca to the organisation, saying it would go a long way in increasing funding for the smooth operations of SOS\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Buurman was optimistic that Mr Da Graca\u2019s commitment to SOS would continue to yield more benefit for the organisation and the world at large.<\/p>\n<p>SOS Children\u2019s Villages operate in 138 countries and territories worldwide with a programmes reach of 2.5million children and families worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\">Ghana<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana.
