Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has accused the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration of destroying the economy.<\/b><\/p>\n

To that end, he said, the NPP should be voted out from office in the 2024 elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe elections go beyond NDC and NPP, it is about the soul and the future of this country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese people have messed up the country, we have huge debts and the country cannot afford to have NPP again,\u201d he said on Thursday, December 14.<\/p>\n

The Former Director of Elections of the National Democratic Congres (NDC) further warned his party supporters against premature jubilation.<\/p>\n

He said although the NDC stands a high chance of winning the 2024 general elections, members of the party who are already celebrating should stop and work hard to ensure the victory is delivered.<\/p>\n

He stated that the party needs unity and hard work at this point to win the elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe NDC’s chances are clear,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cWe should be careful and not jubilate prematurely, the elections are not over, we must come together with unity of purpose and work hard and ensure we rescue this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Former President John Dramani Mahama has asked the Electoral Commission (EC) not to rig the general election for any candidate.<\/p>\n

Speaking to a charged crowd of students of the Wiaso College of Education and Nursing Training in the Western North Region as part of the \u2018Building Ghana Together’ tour, the former President said a credible election is dependent on the posture of the Electoral Commission.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey should do their duty to God and country. They shouldn’t cheat for anybody. I don’t want them to cheat for me and they shouldn’t rig the election for anybody\u201d, John Mahama stressed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey should let the wishes of the Ghanaian people prevail,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cElectoral Commission Officers, I am appealing to your conscience and your heart, on that day 7th December when you come out, do your work as strictly and according to the rules as possible\u201d.<\/p>\n
