Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The Founder of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Rev. Dr Lawrence Tetteh, has stated that many young people have been forced into homosexuality due to poverty.<\/b><\/p>\n

He said not every young person who is currently engaging in homosexuality is doing so at will.<\/p>\n

The renowned evangelist said this on December 31. He said this to refute the notion that like prostitution, some people are into homosexuality for financial gains.<\/p>\n

He alleged that some well-resourced homosexuals prey on youth in poverty-stricken communities in the country to lure them into such immoral acts.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you go to a place like Akoto Lantey, go to some parts of Obo Kwawu and go to some parts of Kumasi, you would be surprised how vulnerable people have been abused because they lack. Poverty has allowed them to take advantage of young people in certain communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was born at Jamestown and when I go to Jamestown today, I see boys and girls who have entered into homosexuality and some of them are sick… it is because of money,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

Touching on corruption Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh said there is corruption in the church.<\/p>\n

He noted that like all human institutions, corrupt practices can be found in churches.<\/p>\n

Answering a question on whether the church is corrupt, Dr Tetteh said, \u201cI think that the world at large is corrupt, not just the church. Certainly, we have instances and pockets of issues that means that we can do better than we do. I am first to admit that in every human institution, there are elements of corruption that must be curbed and until we cleanse those parts, we will be found vulnerable. That is why people are now waking up to it that the wrong must be corrected.\u201d<\/p>\n

Corruption exists in the church \u2013 Lawrence Tetteh<\/p>\n

On how the church can purge itself of corruption, Dr Tetteh stated that, \u201cWe have the Bible as our guide, we have the word of God to guide us. We need to be careful that we fulfil the scripture.\u201d<\/p>\n
