Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Founder of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has said that Ghana\u2019s democracy has not reached the stage where people will trust the manifesto promises of the political parties.<\/b><\/p>\n

To him, instead of the parties bringing up their individual manifesto documents, there should be a national development policy that will guide the activities of all the parties when they form a government.<\/p>\n

Such a policy, if drafted, should not last more than 8 years, he suggested.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview, Mr Ayariga said \u201cOur democracy has not matured to the extent that we should believe in political party manifestoes of the parties.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur democracy has not matured to the extent that Ghanains should trust the manifestoes of the parties.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason I said we should come up with the nation\u2019s manifesto which is a national development plan drafted and positioned and contributed by stakeholders, political leaders, academics, students everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n
