Sadiq says what the Finance Minister said about the Creative Arts sector is a complete lies<\/strong><\/p>\n

The founder and CEO of 3Music Awards, Sadiq Abdulai Abu has attacked the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta for lying t<\/strong>o Ghanaian during his\u00a0presentation of the\u00a02020 Budget\u00a0Statement and Economic Policy on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.<\/p>\n

The minister during the budget reading listed the creative arts industry as one of the incumbent government\u2019s achievements since assuming office in 2017.<\/p>\n

But Sadiq says it\u2019s a complete lie and that the minister may be clueless about the creative arts sector.<\/p>\n

He said the minister has refused to make budget allocations for the sector \u2018because that organisation doesn\u2019t exist\u2019.<\/p>\n

Sadiq described the statement as a \u2018deceptive communication\u2019 and further called on fellow industry people to \u2018scrutinise the budget statement well\u2019 because the minister is a liar.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s either Ken Ofori-Attah is a liar or he is simply clueless. As a finance minister, he is yet to make allocations in fact refused to make funds available to a unit under the tourism ministry for fear of being cited for causing financial loss to the state. Why? Because that organisation doesn\u2019t exist.<\/p>\n

In this country, laws back the establishment of state organisations. The same laws mandate other state organisations to officially interact and correspond with these legally established organisations. So his actions relative to not making funds available to this unit is in order.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s interesting to note is that, today and after declining to correspond to a \u201cyet to be\u201d established organisation, you announced to the whole world that it\u2019s one of your achievements in 32 months. What kind of deceptive communication is that? Guys scrutinise the budget statement well. Ken Ofori Attah is a liar.
