Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Majeed Ashimeru missed Ghana’s recovery training session on Friday due to a knock picked up after the 2-2 draw to Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).<\/b><\/p>\n

Ashimeru was subbed off in the 62nd minute minutes after requiring treatment for an apparent injury.<\/p>\n

After the pulsating game, Ghana coach Chris Hughton confirmed the injury after the player was seen limping in the mixed zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cA substitution that we had to make, and we will assess him in the morning,\u201d he told the press.<\/p>\n

Following advice from the team doctor, the 26-year-old was given time off to rest and as a result, missed Ghana’s recovery session on Friday.<\/p>\n

There’s optimism in the team that Ashimeru should be ready for the game on Monday.<\/p>\n

The team is expected to train twice before facing Mozambique in a must-win game.<\/p>\n
