{"id":65236,"date":"2024-01-23T18:59:56","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T18:59:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/?p=65236"},"modified":"2024-01-23T15:54:49","modified_gmt":"2024-01-23T15:54:49","slug":"wapco-to-undertake-planned-shut-down-for-regulatory-tests-from-jan-28","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/wapco-to-undertake-planned-shut-down-for-regulatory-tests-from-jan-28","title":{"rendered":"WAPCo to undertake planned shut down for regulatory tests from Jan 28"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana. <\/strong><\/span><b>The West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo) has said that it will undertake a coordinated and planned Emergency Shut Down (ESD) and High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS) Proof tests at its facilities in Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria, between 28th and 30th January 2024.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>WAPCo said the exercise is a requirement by its regulatory authority, the West African Gas Pipeline Authority (WAGPA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWAPCo is required to carry out a periodic Emergency Shut Down and HIPPS Proof Test, as part of measures aimed at ensuring safe and reliable operations of the pipeline. This Emergency Shut Down and HIPPS Proof Tests is part of WAPCo&#8217;s 2024 Scheduled Maintenance activities and planned collaboratively with key stakeholders in the four countries and sanctioned by WAGPA,\u201d WAPCo explained.<\/p>\n<p>This is contained in a press release issued on January 22.<\/p>\n<p>According to the release, \u201cThe schedule for this regulatory Emergency Shut Down and HIPPS Proof tests is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Sunday January 28, 2024<\/p>\n<p>Monday January 29, 2024<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday January 30, 2024<\/p>\n<p>WAPCo further stated that, \u201cAll other relevant stakeholders have been informed in advance and the schedule has been shared with them for all parties to be aligned to ensure minimal disruption.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WAPCo apologised to its customers \u201cfor any inconvenience that may be caused by the planned shutdown, which is a regulatory requirement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\">Ghana<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Ghana.
