Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Parliamentary primaries are being held in 104 constituencies in which the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has incumbent Members of Parliament January 27.<\/b><\/p>\n

Press correspondents deployed in various constituencies say, all seem set for the polls.<\/p>\n

The party’s Director of Elections, Evans Nimako said on Ghana Tonight on Thursday, January 25, that all necessary preparations, including election materials, had been deployed.<\/p>\n

In the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Eric Mawuena Egbeta reports that delegates have already queued to vote.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the party has postponed the parliamentary primary in the Akuapem South Constituency.<\/p>\n

The party said in a press release dated January 25 that, the rescheduling of the election to a later date, is to ensure that some prevailing matters are resolved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe leadership of the New Patriotic Party has resolved to postpone the AKUAPEM SOUTH parliamentary primary, initially scheduled for Saturday, January 27, 2024. This decision is in response to petitions received, accompanied by recommendations from both the constituency executive committee and the regional executive committee. The postponement aims to ensure comprehensive consultations and address raised concerns,\u201d the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong wrote.<\/p>\n
