Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Government spokesperson on Governance and Security, Palgrave Boakye Danquah has said the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has the right brain and character to be president of Ghana.<\/b><\/p>\n

He says the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is the best economist that Ghana has had.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Monday February 5 ahead of Dr Bawumia\u2019s planned public address on Wednesday, Mr Boakye Danquah said \u201cDr Bawumia is the best economist that Ghana would have, that Ghana has had, and the future of Ghana.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see the media houses and even the NDC have a lot of admiration for the flagbearer of the NPP and I am glad because if we need to put proper economic knowledge and proper economic value systems in place, John Mahama comes nowhere near close, he comes nowhere. It is clear that Dr Bawumia is the right person to lead this country, he has the right brain, the right mindset, the right position, and the right character. \u201d<\/p>\n

He added \u201cOn Wednesday Dr Bawumia is going to state a clearer position of the policy directives of the campaign of the future that Ghana so deserves, no amount of words from the NDC, no amount of tagging him with statements that he\u2019s made in the past is going to change what the Ghanaian people think of such a noble gentleman of repute.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr Bawumia\u2019s address is expected to focus more on his digitalisation agenda for the country.<\/p>\n

The theme for the address is \u201cGhana\u2019s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future.\u201d The address will take place at the Kofi-Ohene Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).<\/p>\n

The Vice President\u2019s speech is expected to also emphasize leveraging technology, data, and systems to foster inclusive economic growth.<\/p>\n

Dr. Bawumia aims to position Ghana as a digital hub for Africa, narrowing the digital divide and applying digital technology and artificial intelligence to transform sectors such as healthcare, education, and public service delivery.<\/p>\n

Dr. Bawumia became the first-ever leader of the NPP of northern descent. Having won the special and main presidential candidate elections of the party, he will take over the reins of the party from his current boss, President Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n

Since assuming office in 2017, Mr Bawumia has championed a plethora of digital transformation initiatives, especially within the public sector. This drive won him accolades like \u201cdigitalisation man\u201d or \u201cdigital Bawumia.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some of his digital initiatives include Ghana.gov payment options, mobile money interoperability, and GhanaPost GPS, amongst others.<\/p>\n
