Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The leader of the New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, widely known as Cheddar, has reiterated his vision and purpose for the development of the Ghanaian economy.<\/b><\/p>\n

He said his words are not mere campaign promises.<\/p>\n

Cheddar holds the view that the challenges that confront Ghanaians should not be addressed with mere campaign promises by political party leaders, which have more often than not gone unfulfilled.<\/p>\n

The New Force leader made these comments when he paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in Accra to discuss his vision and purpose for the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have realised that politicians work so hard to be elected for whatever next election that is coming so they can become president, but a leader\u2019s priority is to build a nation or a generation, and that is my priority,\u201d said Nana Kwame Bediako.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are my core interests. These are what I stand for. And I know that most of you have been promised based on political campaigns. I like to say to Ghana that I don\u2019t have promises, but one thing I can assure this nation is that I have a purpose that will suit the citizens of this nation,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>\n

Mr. Bediako further explained some of his policies as a contender in this year\u2019s presidential election to the highest office of the land.<\/p>\n

According to the presidential candidate for the New Force movement, his first policy as president is a regional industrial revolution to radically champion development and establish economically viable ventures within all 15 regions of the country. He expressed concerns over Accra serving as the only economic hub for the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom where I sit in the business world, the only city that is fully active and economically viable is Accra. So there are 15 regions that we can build again,\u201d the New Force leader said.<\/p>\n

He noted that the policy will allow every region to have access to its human and natural resources, which will be channelled towards its development.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery region in this country is supposed to have a purpose and to have access to their resources, both human and mineral resources,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cI am not saying that current and past governments have not thought of this, but it has not been done in a way that we can say that we have 15 viable regions that are playing a part in our economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also, Mr. Bediako added that, as part of his vision for the young generation, the New Force, when voted into office, will make Ghana a technology hub where electronic and mobile devices could be manufactured in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe still import mobile phones and laptops into this country when you have a technology hub that is over.\u201d This, he said, is because everything will be produced in the country, for example, iPhones and HP laptops, amongst other devices.<\/p>\n
