This ambitious vision is contingent on a radical transformation of the sports landscape in the country, a pledge he vows to fulfill if elected as president in the upcoming 2024 elections.<\/p>\n

Alan Kyerematen, a former trade minister who parted ways with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to establish his movement, emphasised the need for a significant shift in governance, extending the call for reform to the realm of sports.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve stated it repeatedly: we need a significant shift or transformation in our governance, including sports,\u201d he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the great transformation begins in sports, believe me, Ghana can win the World Cup,\u201d Kyerematen affirmed, expressing his unwavering confidence in the potential of Ghanaian athletes.<\/p>\n

His resolute stance aims to rejuvenate national morale, particularly in the wake of the Black Stars\u2019 premature exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast. They failed to secure a single victory and bowed out in the group stage for the second consecutive tournament.<\/p>\n

The candidate\u2019s rallying cry centers around \u2018The Great Transformation Plan (GTP),\u2019 a comprehensive strategy he believes will not only uplift the spirits of Ghanaians but also propel the country to new heights in various aspects, including sports.<\/p>\n

This declaration also comes on the heels of the national team\u2019s disappointment in the 2022 World Cup. Like the AFCON, the Black Stars were unable to advance to the next stage<\/p>\n

As the 2024 elections draw near, Kyerematen\u2019s \u201cGreat Transformation Plan\u201d could be a decisive factor for voters, offering a compelling vision for the future of Ghana\u2019s sports and national pride.<\/p>\n
