Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere-Darko, has congratulated the new Finance Minister Mohammed Amin Adams.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mr Otchere-Darko said that President Akufo-Addo could not have found a more suitable replacement to take control of the country\u2019s finances than Mr Amin Adam.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to Amin Adam. Ghana\u2019s President couldn\u2019t have found a more prepared, competent, humble and politically-conscious, personable replacement to take control of the country\u2019s finances than you. Reactions from the public suggest strong approval,\u201d he wrote on X.<\/p>\n

Mr Mohammed Amin Adam has been elevated from his post as Minister of State at the Finance Ministry to be the substantive Minister for the Finance Ministry by the President in the latest reshuffle.<\/p>\n

Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has also been removed from the Ministry of Information and sent to the Works and Housing Ministry.<\/p>\n

Amin Adam replaces Ofori-Atta as Finance Minister, Oppong Nkrumah now heads Works and Housing<\/p>\n

President Nana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo relieved Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta of his portfolio in government, with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

The other ministers who have also been removed include Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Works and Housing Minister Francis Asenso Boakye, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, Health, Kwasi Anoako Attah, Roads and Highways, Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Hon. Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Gender, Children and Social Protection Hon. Lariba Abudu, Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Devt Hon. Dan Botwe, Sanitation and Water Resources Hon. Freda Prempeh, Tourism, Arts and Culture Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, Greater Accra Region Hon. Henry Quartey, Oti Region Mr. Joseph Makubu.<\/p>\n

Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has however been reassigned to Works and Housing, Asenso-Boakye has also been reassigned to Roads and Highways.<\/p>\n

This was announced by the Director of Communications at the Presidency Eugene Arhin on Wednesday, February 14.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President personally expressed his sincere appreciation directly to each of the Ministers and Deputy Ministers, who have exited Government, for their commitment, competence, dedication and hard work in office, which helped in the realization of Government\u2019s mandate to the Ghanaian people over the last seven (7) years, and wished each of them well in their future endeavours,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
