Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong has retained his position as the New Patriotic Party\u2019s candidate for the Mampong Constituency in December parliamentary election.<\/b><\/p>\n

He won by 555 votes against his contender, Dennis Kwakwa who secured 167 votes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe delegates believe I am in the position to deliver more,\u201d Dr Apratwum told journalists after being declared winner.<\/p>\n

A total of 727 delegates voted with 4 rejected on Saturday.<\/p>\n

His landslide victory makes him a third consecutive candidate for the ruling party in one of it stronghold.<\/p>\n

On three occasions, elections have been injuncted.<\/p>\n

In 2022, the Mampong Constituency could not participate in the constituency level election due to litigation over the constituency\u2019s album.<\/p>\n
