{"id":6753,"date":"2019-12-06T15:00:08","date_gmt":"2019-12-06T15:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/ghana\/?p=6753"},"modified":"2019-12-06T15:00:08","modified_gmt":"2019-12-06T15:00:08","slug":"okyenhene-demanded-98-cows-and-98-bottles-of-schnapp-to-be-pacified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/ghana\/all-news\/okyenhene-demanded-98-cows-and-98-bottles-of-schnapp-to-be-pacified","title":{"rendered":"Okyenhene demanded 98 cows and 98 bottles of schnapp to be pacified"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>t has emerged that the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, demanded for 98 cows and 98 bottles of schnapp from embattled Ashanti Regional Secretary in order to be pacified.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Ofori Atta, state secretary of Akyem Abuakwa made the revelation in an interview on Asempa FM\u2019s \u2018Eko Sii Sen\u2018 on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the 98 cows and 98 bottles demanded of Mr Kwame Zu was later reduced to 49 cows and 49 bottles of schnapp, with the King finally accepting not to take anything from Mr Zu as a sign of his forgiveness for his \u2018sins\u2019 against him and the stool of Akyem Abuakwa.<\/p>\n<p>Ashanti Regional Secretary for the NDC, Mr Zu, on September 19, 2019 made some unsavory comments about the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin and the town.<\/p>\n<p>He is reported to have said that if not for the intervention of former President John Mahama, the Okyenhene, together with natives of the town, will still be \u2018drinking water with animals.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The comment attracted anger from the people of Kyebi who took to the streets Monday, September 23, to demand an apology from Mr Zu and the NDC.<\/p>\n<p>But, on Thursday December 5, 2019, a high powered delegation, led by the National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, rendered an unqualified apology over the unsavory comments from Mr Zu to the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin and natives of Akyem Abuakwa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>t has emerged that the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, demanded for 98 cows and 98 bottles of schnapp from embattled Ashanti Regional Secretary in order to be pacified.
