Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has said that he is not focused so much on campaign teams ahead of the 2024 general elections.<\/b><\/p>\n

In his view, campaign teams do not matter to Ghanaians, rather the manifesto documents that state how the economic challenges are going to be solved are what interest the people.<\/p>\n

Asked what the winning campaign team for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be while speaking in a yet-to-be-aired interview, he answered \u201cI am not big on campaign teams, I don\u2019t think that is what really matters to the Ghanaian people, I am rather big on the manifesto, the vision for our country. We are in a quagmire and who cares about the campaign team?\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Ablakwa further accused the Akufo-Addo government of engaging in a looting spree.<\/p>\n

In his view, developments under Akufo-Addo created the impression as though a looting brigade had descended upon the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a yet-to-be-aired interview with TV3\u2019s Keminni Amanor on Hot Issues, he indicated that per the Auditor-General\u2019s report, 87% of road contracts were awarded through sole sourcing.<\/p>\n

This, he said, amounted to looting.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is happening now under this Akufo-Addo\/Bawumia regime is like a free-for-all, there is no elder in the room, everybody is on a looting spree, and it is as though a looting brigade has descended upon this nation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201c87 percent of the road contracts that they awarded were single-sourced, they were not competitive, not me saying, the Auditor-General of Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n

There has to be a national commission of inquiry, we are talking about hundreds of millions of Cedis.<\/p>\n
