Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>CCTV footage intercepted by Akoma 87.9fm morning show #GhanAkoma reveals how the late Okyem Aboagye\u2019s 2M Express driver and passengers narrowly escaped armed robbers attack on Kumasi-Accra.<\/b><\/p>\n

The incident which was captured by installed CCTV cameras in the vehicle showed sporadic gun shots from armed robbers into the vehicle of the 2M Express.<\/p>\n

Dozens of passengers were robbed at gunpoint leaving some injured.<\/p>\n

The suspects numbering about five, according to the victims, robbed passengers of their monies, phones and other valuables at Asankare-Atwedie stretch of the road.<\/p>\n

The incident reportedly occurred around 11:39pm on Wednesday, February, 21.<\/p>\n

Narrating the incident to the host of Ghanakoma morning show on Akoma 87.9fm in Kumasi with Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin, the driver of 2m Express bus, Etiene, disclosed that the suspected robbers were operating with big guns, machetes and huge sticks.<\/p>\n

He revealed that, some of the passengers were beaten to pulp for not having enough money on them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gun-wielding men had mounted a barrier to stop vehicles from both ends of the road. I saw about 4 passenger vehicles who were stopped by the robbers. They then asked us to come down and began to demand our valuables.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the women on board a splinter bus was beaten heavily by the robbers when she failed to show where her money is. The robbers attacked her with huge sticks and machete, while others also hit her with gun causing her injuries\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n

The driver however, revealed that the suspected armed robbers vanished into a nearby Bush upon hearing a police siren from a distance.<\/p>\n
