Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has commissioned a Digital Repository he funded for Wesley Girls Senior High School, in memory of his late mother, Hajia Mariama Bawumia, a former student of the school.<\/b><\/p>\n

Dr Bawumia said for an academic institution the size of Wesley Girls\u2019 High School, and with its rich 187-year history, the repository will prove to be a worthy asset, as it will help past students, current students and staff retrieve important records of the school digitally and with ease.<\/p>\n

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) commissioned the facility on Wednesday February 28 in Cape Coast.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing the passing of my mother in 2021, I was touched by the visit of her classmates of the 1960-year group, to commiserate with me and the family.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I was privileged to be approached by the Old Girls\u2019 Association on behalf of the school on the 1st Anniversary of her passing, to assist with the provision of a digital repository for the school, which I happily supported in honour of my late mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result of the project, all students\u2019 records have been digitized and can be easily accessed at the touch of a button.,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He further wrote on his Facebook page that \u201cI was honoured by the presence of three of my mother\u2019s classmates at today\u2019s ceremony (Mrs Nancy Thompson, Dr. Mrs. Cecelia Bentsi, and Dr. Mrs. Matilda Papoe). May God bless them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am hopeful that all other educational institutions that are yet to do so will follow suit and digitize their precious records.\u201d<\/p>\n
