Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Parliamentary aspirant for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akuapem South Constituency of the Eastern Region, Eric Samuel Annor-Mensah has vowed to win the primaries.<\/b><\/p>\n

He is optimistic that he will be elected by the delegates to represent the party in the 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n

The NPP in Akuapem South is conducting its parliamentary primaries to elect its parliamentary candidate for the 2024 polls in December. Four aspirants are contesting in the primaries including the Municipal Chief Executive, Frank Aidoo. Five hundred and seventy-four (574) delegates are expected to cast their votes.<\/p>\n

The election was postponed to Saturday March 2, due to a petition from the Regional Party Executives and the withdrawal of the incumbent MP, Osei-Bonsu Amoah.<\/p>\n

This made it possible for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) who had been barred from contesting due to the candidacy of the sitting MP as prescribed by the party\u2019s constitution.<\/p>\n

Speaking after casting his vote in the ongoing primaries, Mr Annoh-Mensah stated that he will emerge victorious. He emphasized that the delegates believe in him and would vote for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am confident that I will win the primaries because of my relationship with the delegates and the people. And the youth love me, so if I don\u2019t win it will be a disaster for the party, he reiterated.<\/p>\n

Mr Annor-Mensah, who contested O.B Amoah in the 2020 primaries and lost, says he has good plans for the youth in the area.<\/p>\n

He has promised to help create job opportunities for the people when given the opportunity to serve.<\/p>\n
