Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The Ghana Swimming Association has released the list of swimmers for the African Games.<\/b><\/p>\n

With experience and a blend of youthful energy, the team is looking to be the best at the Games in Accra.<\/p>\n

In the Women\u2019s session, Nubia Adjei leads the team. Nubia has been Ghana\u2019s most promising female swimmer in the last two years and is looking to make a huge impact on the games. She holds the record as one of the fastest swimmers in the West African region.<\/p>\n

With several meets to her name, her experience will come in handy for the team. Unilez Takyi is also one of the swimmers whose name is on the list. She was one of Ghana\u2019s swimmers at the Olympic Games in Tokyo after entering the competition as one of the wildcards. Her involvement will be important to the team.<\/p>\n

The absence of Zaira Forson though leaves a gaping hole in the team. The young promising swimmer has been one of Ghana\u2019s prospects in the sport but due to certain personal commitments, she has had to sit the competition out.<\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s Division, Ghana\u2019s greatest-ever swimmer Abeiku Jackson makes the list with his brother, Kow who has come through with some really good times in the last few years.<\/p>\n

Abeiku started out in 2014 at the Commonwealth Games in Britain and has since been to 3 World Championships, One African Games in Rabat in Morocco and an African Swimming Championship in Tunis where he won Gold in the 100m butterfly.<\/p>\n

Jackson will be looking to showcase his skills this time on home soil to bring smiles to the faces of many Ghana fans.<\/p>\n

The rest of the names that complete the list are Ivan Snowden, Harry Stacey, Theodore Asampong Kwaa Jnr, Christian Nii Nortey Duah and Hector Titus Ankrah.<\/p>\n
