Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George has criticized the National Peace Council and the Center for Democratic Development (CDD) in relation to the ongoing debate surrounding the anti-gay bill.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to him, the National Peace Council is part of the problems of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Peace Council is one of the problems of this country. The Peace Council have become a political organization; it should be disbanded for the sanctity of Ghana\u2019s peace. The Peace Council is a threat to our peace as a country,\u201d declared Sam George during an interview with Johnnie Hughes on 3FM Sunrise Morning Show on March 5.<\/p>\n

Sam George\u2019s remarks didn\u2019t stop there; he likened the members of the Peace Council to the biblical figure Esau who sold his birthright for a bowl of porridge, implying they had compromised their principles for personal gain.<\/p>\n

Turning his attention to the CDD, Sam George accused the organization of being financially motivated in their advocacy efforts, particularly regarding their involvement with what he termed \u201cGhana\u2019s gay lobby.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe CDD advocacy is financial. The CDD is funded. They are funded by and this advocacy, all the work they\u2019ve done with the gay lobby so-called group of 18, they are Ghana\u2019s gay lobby,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n

He went further to imply that the CDD\u2019s involvement in the debate was driven by financial incentives rather than genuine concern for academic research or Ghanaian values.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet people not think that the CDD is doing an altruistic job and that Professor Gadzekpo is interested in doing academic research. This is financial,\u201d Sam George stated emphatically.<\/p>\n

Highlighting his own motivations in the debate, George reiterated his commitment to protecting Ghanaian cultural values and the innocence of children, contrasting it with what he perceived as the financial interests of other parties involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy interest is the protection of the Ghanaian cultural values and the protection of the innocence of my children and the children of Ghana. That\u2019s my interest. And their interest is money, it\u2019s financial,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n
