Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Ghana\u2019s swimming team is gearing up for a successful run at the 2023 African Games, with their sights set on securing more spots at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.<\/b><\/p>\n

The team has been undergoing intensive training sessions at the Borteyman Complex under the watchful eye of coach Pavel Kutashev, focusing on refining their techniques and building their endurance.<\/p>\n

While Theodore Asampong, Ivan Snowden, and Kow Jackson missed the training session on Tuesday morning, they are expected to join the team for the next practice.<\/p>\n

Coach Kutashev exuded confidence in his team\u2019s abilities, expressing optimism that they will bring home more medals and achieve greater success at the Games.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been good, it was not with many problems. Nothing is perfect but the swimmers are shaping nicely. I cannot say I have not seen any tactical problems but yeah, I am very confident. I\u2019m always confident, yet there\u2019s always room for improvement. We have shown great effort and we are on course to do great things at the games,\u201d coach Kutashev said.<\/p>\n

Spoke to Ghana\u2019s swim coach, Pavel Kutashev who is upbeat about Ghana\u2019s chances at the African Games.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll be tough but I am hopeful. We have prepared well enough and can\u2019t wait for the games to begin\u201d<\/p>\n

One of Ghana\u2019s biggest stars in swimming, Abeiku Jackson, also expressed his gratitude to the organisers of the Games and believes the events will aid in the development of young upcoming swimmers in Ghana.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel excited. At our home ground in Ghana. I\u2019m very happy to be here and I\u2019m following the guidance of the coach and hopefully, we achieve great things at the games,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery Ghanaian dream is the Olympics and we are lucky to have the fans behind us here at home and yeah great things ahead. Our young athletes will gain the experience from these games and yeah, it will help the young ones improve as well,\u201d Jackson added.<\/p>\n

The swimming event is scheduled to start on March 9, 2024, and Ghana, with a great mix of experience and talent, looks poised to make a splash at the Games.<\/p>\n
