Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Black Princesses coach Yusif Basigi has emphasised the team\u2019s target to clinch the ultimate in the women\u2019s football competition of the ongoing 2023 African Games.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Ghana U-20 female side has begun the camping on an excellent note clinching two straight wins. They narrowly edged past Ethiopia in their first game and came from behind to seal qualification to the next stage by beating Tanzania 2-1 at the Cape Coast Staf=dium on Tuesday, March 12, 2023.<\/p>\n

While they have a game to spare against Uganda, the team has an eye on their anticipated semi-final clash.<\/p>\n

Basigi acknowledged that the journey hasn\u2019t been rosy but belives in his team\u2019s capabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to win; that is why we are competing,\u201d said Basigi when quizzed about his target at the end of the game. \u201cWe are on course. You may see the team not stable but we are on course.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a little bit of challenges but we are managing and I know we will find our rhythm. That is why in the first half you saw we were a bit shaky because when you don\u2019t have the complement of the team and you keep changing this is what happens.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs and when we progress then you will see that then you see we are coming up. So yes, the mission is still on course.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ghana is aiming to recapture the gold medal it secured in the previous two editions of the Games in 2015, with representation from the Black Queens.<\/p>\n
