Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>Unilever Ghana\u2019s skin cleansing brand, Geisha Soap, has reiterated its commitment to mothers and women, saluting the strength and resilience that these groups exhibit in their daily life. By adding the brand\u2019s voice of support to women and female causes, Geisha Soap is continuing with its focus of being a \u201cstrong soap for long lasting care\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

This commitment was emphasised at the 6th edition of the National Women\u2019s Summit & Expo \u2013 where Geisha Soap is the title sponsor for the second year running \u2013 held at the Accra International Conference Centre on International Women\u2019s Day, 8 March 2024.<\/p>\n

The event, organised by Charterhouse in partnership with Joy FM, was under the theme, \u201cInspiring Inclusion.\u201d It brought together some of Ghana\u2019s most eminent women in the workplace, in leadership, and in the creative industry, with women from all walks of life. Additionally, it served as an opportunity for learning, networking, and mentoring for the students from selected girls\u2019 senior high schools in attendance.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Mrs<\/b> Nana Yaa Owusu-Ansah, Marketing Director for Beauty, Wellbeing and Personal Care \u2013 Unilever Ghana and Francophone Africa,<\/b> expressed her excitement that Geisha is continuing with its partnership with the National Women\u2019s Summit & Expo. She said, \u201cOur purposeful brand, Geisha, is deeply rooted in and embodies the values of strength and resilience, and is testament to the power of inclusion. Geisha is focused on empowering women to unleash their potential and contribute to building their societies.\u201d For her, the theme was fitting, because inclusion is a fundamental principle that promotes prosperity in society.<\/p>\n

Mrs Owusu-Ansah, who is also a member of the Board of Directors for Unilever Ghana PLC and the Founder of Super Moms Club in Unilever, mentioned that Geisha\u2019s partnership was beneficial because the brand gets to \u201cshine the spotlight on the remarkable achievement of women and to celebrate the strength, resilience and determination of women.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Frederick Asare, Category Marketing Manager for Skin Cleansing<\/b>, expanded on why Geisha Soap is partnering on this annual event again: \u201cThis is one of the occasions that, as a brand, we seek to demonstrate our brand purpose. We believe that Geisha is in the position to support women to teach children to be strong and resilient. We will use our platform to encourage young ladies to come to the table and to have their voices heard.\u201d<\/p>\n

The keynote speaker for the 6th National Women\u2019s Summit & Expo, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, first female Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, encouraged women to endeavour to rise to leadership positions in corporate Ghana and on the national stage. She also lent her support to the Affirmative Action Bill, which is before Parliament.<\/p>\n

Geisha honoured and awarded female key distributors. These women are: Pappita Dayal Lalwani (Lucky Bazaar Ltd), Nana Ama Agyapong (Y&K investments Ltd), Mercy Adochim (Awen Yami Enterprise), Adelaide Ahwereng (Fio Enterprise), Felicia Logo (Marksussie Enterprise), and Najat Mukhtat (NJ Ventures).<\/p>\n

In the run up to the event, Geisha Soap held an event at Wesley Grammar School, where they interacted with the students, inspiring them, and spending a fun day with them.<\/p>\n
