Africa-Press – Ghana. <\/strong><\/span>The National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare-Addo, has tasked members of the party to stop any moves to disrupt the polls on December 7, 2024.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking after the unveiling of the NDC Youth Wing Secretariat, he said they will be vigilant at the polling stations and closely monitor the counting of votes.<\/p>\n

His comments follow a request by the party\u2019s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, that the party must strive for a convincing victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cA call to police the polls is a call to duty. Every Ghanaian knows that where Ghana stands today, it is in our best interest to make sure that every single vote that is cast is properly accounted for and so we will police the ballots at the peril of our lives \u2013 that I can assure everybody \u2013 to make sure the right things are done, and nobody takes us for granted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mahama to split Youth and Sports Ministry<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I vote, my vote must be counted. Nobody, whether an electoral officer or a police officer or a military officer or anybody \u2013 not even the president \u2013 should attempt to take the mandate of the people for granted,\u201d he said on Friday, March 29, 2024.<\/p>\n

John Mahama has urged the youth wing to work closely with the election directorate of the party \u201cin terms of the vigilance that we need at the polling stations and the transmission of the results.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know the campaign is important, the message is important but most critical of all is that elections are won or lost at the polling stations and so we can have the nicest of the messages, we can do the best of campaigns… if on the day, we do not police the poll, the objective that we set for ourselves will not happen,\u201d he directed.<\/p>\n
